In addition to strong conservative credentials, which most of the candidates can share, the work I have done for the County for the past 6 years has given me the experience and relationships to get things done. I have worked first-hand with key officials to solve issues pertinent to Washington County. My work for the County has been passionate, independent, and effective. These experiences will allow me to seamlessly transition to the role of County Commissioner, hitting the ground running and being effective from day one.
And I won’t just tell you that I have the experience required to make the smartest decisions for our county. I invite you to contact nearly any state legislator, county commissioner, mayor, or one of hundreds of business owners in southern Utah and ask them about my work ethic, responsiveness, and ability to find solutions to their problems. My actions and their testimonies should tell you everything you need to know.
If nominated, I will hit the ground running without the steep learning curve on so many issues. Any other candidate will spend years becoming an expert on the subject matter, studying the issues intensely in an attempt to understand the ramifications of their decisions. This is legwork I’ve already done out in the community for years, working directly with stakeholders and helping them find solutions.
Knowing the issues isn't enough, an effective commissioner needs to know how to solve them and the relationships to enact those solutions. Like business, government works on trust and relationships, the same network of connections that I have been working with every day for years.
I understand the role of a successful county commissioner because I work with dozens of them. I know the urgent issues inside and out because I’m already working on them.
